Leisure time on Lake Constance
Whether you enjoy golf, walking or cycling through the glorious countryside; sailing, wind surfing or simply having a swim in one of the numerous open-air pools, you will be spoilt for choice. There is so much to discover on Lake Constance. In winter there are exciting ski safaris in the renowned Vorarlberg ski areas, (Arlberg, Montafon), or how about the thrill of a horse-drawn sleigh ride or snow-shoe walking to enjoy the snow without skis?
AN EXCELLENT LOCATION
“Location, location, location”, that is the mantra. The Hotel Lamm is situated in the green suburbs of Bregenz, just 3 minutes from Lake Constance, 10 minutes from the Festival Hall and 20 minutes from the city centre. On foot, of course.
Bregenz – the lakeside town with the X factor
Anyone visiting Bregenz will be surprised at the multi-facetted nature of the town. There is an almost unlimited selection of leisure activities: exploring the shores of Lake Constance by bike; hiking up to the top of the Pfänder or taking the easy alternative by cable car; relaxing and enjoying summer at the Lido; taking a boat trip from Bregenz harbour; visiting galleries and museums. And not forgetting, of course, Bregenz Festival’s renowned “floating” stage.
Get to know the city on one of a wide selection of guided walking tours. For example, themed city tours about the Bregenz Festival, art and architecture or medieval Bregenz are offered. Or start your first discovery tour independently, using the helpful Bregenz App for iPhones.
Activities and adventure
Thanks to its ideal location our hotel offers numerous leisure activities, such as walking, cycling, swimming, paddle boarding and much more besides.
A highlight - the Bregenz Festival
Each summer, with a magical cultural appeal which truly affects all the senses, the Bregenz Festival captures the hearts of all who experience it. The 2022/23 programme features Giacomo Puccini’s opera 'Madame Butterfly'.
Boat trips on Lake Constance
Choose from a selection of attractive round trips and excursions - explore Lake Constance by boat! It's the simplest and most comfortable way of visiting the loveliest places on the lake.
An excursion on the Hohentwiel paddle steamer is a very special experience. This majestic ship is pure magic. In the harbour, in the pale light of dawn, or whenever you see her on Lake Constance, she is a real sight for sore eyes.
She has an elegance that we have come to associate with days gone by: this steamer is an enchantingly beautiful ship.
Bregenz Art Gallery – a great example of Vorarlberg art
Basking in the light of Lake Constance, the KUB Art Gallery is Vorarlberg’s modern art Mecca.
The Bregenz Art Gallery was designed by the renowned Swiss architect Peter Zumthor. Its multi award-winning architecture is considered to be one of this contemporary architect’s most significant museum buildings worldwide. Based on the concept of utilising natural daylight, the museum is striking on account of its imposing external appearance and the uncompromising implementation of its unusual design.
Schubertiade
"Small but classy", exactly like the province of Vorarlberg: that's the Schubertiade, the world-renowned festival celebrating Franz Schubert.
The island of Mainau in Lake Constance
The nicest way of reaching the “Flowering Isle” of Mainau is definitely by boat. Quite apart from the unrivalled flower gardens, there is a lot more to discover here. This little island paradise is owned by the Bernadottes, who are descended from the Swedish royal family.
There is an awful lot to marvel at on the Isle of Mainau, especially when it comes to botanical gems. The renowned collection of roses with over 1,200 different types and species is spread over two locations on the island. The best place to enjoy this Queen of Flowers’ heady scents and intoxicating beauty is doubtless the Italian rose garden.
Bregenzerwald - awe-inspiring Alps, wonderful walking tracks
The Bregenzerwald and the Hohe Tauern National Park were once rated as two of the “best up-and-coming destinations in Austria” by an international team of specialist judges in Vienna.
Lindau on Lake Constance
In Lindau visitors will find a selection of cultural attractions comparable to that to be found in an art metropolis. Not only does the Lindau town theatre feature renowned stage actors and ensembles: recently the Lindau Department of Culture has also been enthusiastically hosting its own top-quality productions. With over 400 puppets, the Marionette Opera is the only marionette theatre in Germany to feature musical theatre exclusively. And every summer the town museum presents high calibre exhibitions featuring Artists of Classic Modernism: in 2022, under the title “Nature Myths”, works by a selection of artists ranging from Monet to Warhol were exhibited in the Art Museum at the island’s railway station.
